How To Apply
There is no national health insurance in the United States, so private health insurance is required in the U.S.

The cost of your insurance is included in your program cost.

Your insurance policy will expire on the end date listed on your DS-2019 form.   If you wish to travel for 30 days after your work period has ended, you must contact GEC to extend your insurance.  (Not having insurance is a violation of SEVIS requirements and will result in the termination of your program.)
Insurance Benefits
For Southwestern participants:
Please refer to your Insurance Handbook for a summary of your Seven Corners plan benefits.

For SummerWork USA particpants:
Please refer to the Insurance brochure in your GEC Information packet for a summary of your United Healthcare plan benefits.
Insurance Procedures
If you become sick or are in an accident, you should call the insurance company or look online for a list of network providers in your area.  Failure to see a network provider or follow pre-certification procedures may result in a reduction of your benefits.   If you need assistance regarding your insurance, please contact GEC or the insurance company.   You will be given specific details regarding your insurance policy during your GEC Orientation.

It is important to read your insurance information BEFORE you need medical attention.   Some limitations do apply.
